 Harris lies off the west coast of Scotland and forms the southern part of Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides. It is not an island itself as it is joined to Lewis by a narrow isthmus at the town of Tarbert. It is more mountainous than Lewis and its highest peak is Clisham 799m. It is famed for its golden, sandy beaches with crystal clear water. The most famous beaches are Luskentyre and Scarista.
