Verdant Green
Angus, Scotland
Barley ripening in fields is a sight synonymous with the Angus countryside. As an area it covers just 3% of Scotland's agricultural area, but accounts for 40% of Scotland's highest quality arable land. To get a different perspective for this image, I was standing on tip toes, on a step ladder on uneven ground, trying to compose through the viewfinder, waiting for the breeze to die down, whilst maintaing my precarious position. An unusual composition for a panorama, but I wanted to fill the frame with the verdant green crop.
