Spring Velvet
Rannoch, Perthshire, Scotland
Normally, the aim in landscape photography is to have at least some part of the image sharply in focus. However, in this photo of a Silver Birch wood, I wanted to portray the sense of softness the overcast light was imparting on the scene. The image would be almost monochromatic, if it were not for the newly emerging leaves, which provide a green accent without being overpowering.
