Mangestra, Isle of Lewis, Hebrides

The west coast of Lewis is frequently battered by the full force of Atlantic storms. In the aftermath of one such storm, the sun just dipped below a bank of clouds to bathe the cliffs in a radiant orange glow. The mountain in the background, Mealisval, steadfastly refused to join the party and remained brooding in the background. Photo © copyright by Graham Chalmers.
