Frosted Autumn Leaves
Angus, Scotland
Fallen Autumn leaves lay scattered all around my feet as I composed this image. I wandered, head down, looking for a composition which would simplify the chaotic jumble of forms. The light frost, whilst highlighting the raised structures in the image and giving them added importance, also meant that nothing could be removed for fear of leaving an an unfrosted gap in the image. Eventually, I settled on this arrangement, which I felt gave a pleasing balance of shape and colour.
