Echoes

Embleton Bay, Northumberland, England

Just before dawn, on a calm summers day, I had headed for the coast to capture the first light. The rising tide created a gentle swell, which lapped the boulders on the rocky beach. I had initially been hoping for more in the way of wave action to create drama and break up the expanse of sea. By careful timing I was able to capture two waves approaching the boulders. The final ingredient was aligning the similar shapes of the clouds, waves and boulders to create a succession of echoing shapes.
