As the light from the setting sun warmed the ripening barley with a golden glow, I carefully set up my camera to capture this image. I was wanting a panoramic, graphic image, excluding all sky and non barley elements. The essential piece of composition was in the distance, where the land gently rose on a slope. This provided a finishing point to the strong lead in lines of tractor ruts.
